Apple Settles DVR Suit With Burst For $10M

Law360, New York (November 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Choosing to pay for Inc.'s patents rather than continue litigation, Apple Inc. decided on Wednesday to settle an almost two-year-old lawsuit over DVR technology for a one-time payment of $10 million cash.

Under the settlement, Apple will have a non-exclusive license to almost all of Burst's patent portfolio, excluding one issued U.S. patent and three pending U.S. patent applications related to new DVR technology.
