Owens Corning Settles Ohio Environmental Claims

Law360 (November 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge approved insulation maker Owens Corning's settlement with Ohio over the treatment of contaminated sites on Monday in a dispute left over from the company's bankruptcy.

Judge Judith Fitzgerald signed off on the deal Monday, giving the state of Ohio allowed unsecured claims in Owens Corning’s bankruptcy. The deal also required the troubled manufacturer, under the Superfund law, to treat the company’s landfill, tech center and insulated systems plant and liquidated Granville solvents site.
