ITC To Probe Ericsson Over Samsung's LTE Patents

Law360, New York (January 25, 2013, 5:24 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Friday that it has voted to bring an investigation into certain wireless communication equipment following Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s complaint targeting Ericsson Inc. and its parent alleging infringement of its 4G LTE patents.

The ITC said Samsung is alleging violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by telecommunications equipment maker Ericsson and Stockholm-based Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson over their importation of wireless communications equipment, including base stations. Samsung is seeking an exclusion order and a cease-and-desist order....
