GAO Denies Bid Protest Over $177M HHS Contract

Law360, New York (January 29, 2013, 6:59 PM EST) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has denied a bid protest from Noridian Administrative Services LLC over its loss of a contract costing $177 million to provide durable medical equipment to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

In a decision handed down Dec. 22 but made public Tuesday, the GAO said Noridian failed to adequately support the effectiveness of a proposed cost-cutting innovation, resulting in the agency revising upward Noridian’s proposed costs on the contract.
