J. Crew Says Designer Lifted Trade Secrets For New Gig

Law360, New York (January 28, 2013, 1:22 PM EST) -- J. Crew Group Inc. on Thursday sued one of its former top designers in New York state court, alleging that when the designer left the company to work for a direct competitor, he took certain trade secrets and other confidential business information for use at his new job.

New York-based J. Crew contends that Dwight Fenton, who worked as a senior design director in the clothing retailer's men's design division, told the company Jan. 15 that he was resigning to join Bonobos, a rival men's apparel company with "a similar aesthetic to J. Crew."
