Ex-Jefferies Trader Arrested For TARP Fraud

Law360, Los Angeles (January 28, 2013, 5:14 PM EST) -- A federal grand jury in Connecticut on Friday indicted former Jefferies & Co. Inc. managing director Jesse C. Litvak for allegedly committing securities fraud and Troubled Asset Relief Program fraud in a scheme that defrauded customers on residential mortgage-backed securities trades.

Litvak, 38, was arrested Monday morning at his home by Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program agents after being indicted for defrauding six public-private investment programs and multiple private investment funds for more than $2 million, according to prosecutors.
