Texas Gov. Calls For $3.7B To Fund Water, Road Projects

Law360, Houston (January 29, 2013, 3:23 PM EST) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry on Tuesday called for state lawmakers to approve a one-time $3.7 billion disbursement from the state's Rainy Day Fund to pay for water and road infrastructure projects during his State of the State address.

Arguing that water and roads are essential to the state’s continued economic development, Perry said he supported tapping the nearly $12 billion fund for construction and improvement projects throughout Texas.
