Tenaska Signs On For 800-MW Natural Gas Plant In Texas

Law360, Dallas (January 29, 2013, 6:05 PM EST) -- An affiliate of Tenaska Inc. will develop an 800-megawatt natural gas power plant on 270 acres in Brownsville, Texas, anticipated to come online in mid-2016, the company announced Monday.

The Brownsville Public Utilities Board on Friday signed a development and purchase agreement with Tenaska Brownsville Partners LLC that will give the utility an ownership stake in the plant, Tenaska’s fifth in Texas, the company said. The plant will supply energy to the grid operated by the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
