Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 1:48 PM EST) -- In New York, hydraulic fracturing — the technology used to develop natural gas resources from deep shale formations — will be regulated primarily at the state level. However, some federal regulation of hydraulic fracturing already exists and will likely expand due to significant public interest in shale development and push back regarding the “Halliburton Loophole.”
