Ex-NY State Senator Admits Embezzling From Her Nonprofit

Law360, New York (January 30, 2013, 5:41 PM EST) -- Disgraced former New York state Sen. Shirley Huntley pled guilty Wednesday in Brooklyn federal court to a fraud conspiracy charge as part of a scheme to embezzle $87,700 from her state-funded nonprofit organization.

Huntley, 74, pled guilty before U.S. District Judge Jack B. Weinstein to a single-count criminal information and was released on $100,000 bond. Huntley represented the 10th Senate district in Queens between January 2007 and December 2012.
