Feds Indict 9 Philly Traffic Court Judges Over Fixed Tickets

Law360, Philadelphia (January 31, 2013, 2:16 PM EST) -- Nine current and former judges for Philadelphia’s troubled traffic court were hit with a federal indictment Thursday alleging that they conspired to “fix” tickets for well-connected individuals.

According to the indictment, the judges, along with the court’s former director of records, created an extrajudicial system in which they worked together to exchange requests for preferential treatment, depriving both Philadelphia and Pennsylvania of funds from the traffic tickets.
