DePuy Exec Called Hip Implant Study 'Suicide,' Jury Hears

Law360, Los Angeles (January 31, 2013, 7:13 PM EST) -- A project manager heading development of DePuy Inc.’s ASL XR hip implant told colleagues in 2005 it would be “suicide” to sponsor a study comparing the device to a similar product, a DePuy engineer testified Thursday in a bellwether trial accusing the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary of selling implants with excessive failure rates.
