CFPB Taps Veteran Regulator As Acting Deputy Director

Law360, Washington (January 31, 2013, 6:49 PM EST) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau named Steve Antonakes as its acting deputy director on Thursday, as the bureau looks for a replacement for Raj Date, who left the deputy director position on the same day.

Antonakes is the CFPB's associate director for supervision, enforcement and fair lending, and will continue to perform his duties in that area as he assumes his new temporary role, the bureau said. Date was the bureau's first deputy director.
