US Says Starr Can't Rep 2 Classes In AIG Bailout Suit

Law360, New York (February 4, 2013, 7:59 PM EST) -- The U.S. government urged a federal court on Friday to reject Starr International Co. Inc.'s request for class certification in a $25 billion lawsuit over the bailout of American International Group Inc., arguing that Starr couldn't fairly represent both proposed classes. 

In a brief opposing Starr's class certification motion, the government told the U.S. Court of Federal Claims that Starr's two proposed classes were rife with conflicts and that Starr would be unable to adequately protect the interests of both classes.
