Houston Atty Sued Over Role In $60M Reverse Merger

Law360, Houston (February 4, 2013, 6:34 PM EST) -- Telecommunications company Digerati Technologies Inc. on Monday launched a suit in Texas court against a Houston attorney who helped it acquire two oilfield service companies through a $60 million reverse merger, alleging he is part of a plot to extort and seize control of the new entity.

Digerati claims that attorney Robert L. Sonfield Jr. and others disguised the true nature of the transaction, which left the company debt-laden, secretly issued themselves stock and attempted to set themselves up as board members in order to initiate a takeover.
