Hospital’s $8M Medicare Deal OK’d To Avoid Criminal Fallout

Law360, New York (February 11, 2013, 6:57 PM EST) -- A North Carolina federal judge who initially refused to approve the $8 million settlement of a criminal charge against WakeMed Health and Hospitals for allegedly overbilling Medicare approved the deal Friday, saying a conviction would have severe consequences for its employees and patients.
