Ex-NY State Senator Admits To Evidence Tampering

Law360, New York (February 13, 2013, 3:14 PM EST) -- Shirley L. Huntley, the former state senator from Queens, N.Y., who recently pled guilty in federal court to embezzling from her state-funded nonprofit organization, has agreed to plead guilty to state charges of evidence tampering, officials said Wednesday.

Huntley, who faces an 18- to 24-month prison sentence after admitting on Jan. 30 in Brooklyn federal court to embezzling more than $87,000 from her Parents Information Network Inc., will see state officials recommend a sentence of five years' probation on the evidence charge, New York State Attorney...
