U.S. Moves To Toss Iraq Crash Case

Law360, New York (December 4, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. government is seeking to dismiss a suit that tries to blame the army for a fatal traffic accident that took place in Iraq and killed several employees of defense contractor Lear Siegler.

On Monday, U.S. Secretary of the Army Pete Geren, joined by the government as a co-defendant, filed a motion to dismiss the liability case brought by plaintiff Scott Tyree and others in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The defendants said the court lacked jurisdiction.
