Pilgrim's Pride Hit With Age Discrimination Suit

Law360 (December 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A 30-year employee of Pilgrim's Pride Corp. has alleged in a lawsuit that it tried to force her into a drug and alcohol treatment program so that it could fire her because of her age.

Maria Cano, 67, filed the suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas accusing the chicken producer of age discrimination. The suit claims the company misapplied its alcohol and drug policies as a pretext to harass and humiliate Cano and drive her from her job....
