Japan's Orix Offers $2.6B For Rabobank Asset Manager

Law360, New York (February 19, 2013, 12:00 PM EST) -- Financial services, investment banking, life insurance and real estate development company Orix Corp. will pay €1.94 billion ($2.6 billion) for a majority stake in Rabobank Group NV's asset management arm, making it one of Japan’s largest asset managers as it diversifies its business, the firm said Tuesday.

In the deal, Orix will pay the Dutch bank a mix of cash and its own stock for a 90 percent interest in Robeco Group NV, which manages nearly €190 billion for more than a million private investors around...
