Eurotunnel To Fight UK's Antitrust Review Of €65M Ship Buy

Law360, New York (February 19, 2013, 2:26 PM EST) -- Groupe Eurotunnel SA on Tuesday said it will challenge a U.K. antitrust regulator's stance that its €65 million ($86 million) purchase of three ships from collapsed ferry company SeaFrance SA could lead to higher prices in the market for transport across the English Channel.

The Competition Commission said earlier Tuesday that by adding ferry services to Eurotunnel's existing Channel Tunnel business, the company would boost its already high share of the cross-Channel transport market, restricting competition.
