Obama Calls For $50B In Transport, Energy Project Funds

Law360, New York (February 20, 2013, 1:42 PM EST) -- The White House unveiled a plan Wednesday to invest at least $50 billion in transportation, renewable energy and other infrastructure upgrades, aiming to bring the nation's faulty roads and bridges up to par and speed up permitting for new projects.

The plan builds on calls President Barack Obama made last year for new spending to repair decaying infrastructure systems around the U.S. and boost construction with an injection of new capital.
