Kinder Morgan, Mercuria To Build Texas Crude-By-Rail Facility

Law360, New York (February 21, 2013, 8:00 PM EST) -- Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP announced Thursday that it has joined with Watco Cos. LLC to strike a long-term agreement with Swiss oil trader Mercuria Energy Trading Co. Inc. to build a 210,000-barrel-per-day crude-by-rail terminal in Houston.

KW Express LLC, which is a partnership between Kinder Morgan Energy Partners and Watco Cos., and Mercuria will build the rail project at the Greens Port Industrial Park on the Houston Ship Channel to boost the alternative transport capabilities of crude to and from major drilling hubs. The cost...
