Pa. Dems Aim To Get Voter ID Law Off The Books

Law360, Philadelphia (February 22, 2013, 4:36 PM EST) -- Pennsylvania state Reps. Dwight Evans, D-Philadelphia, and Ronald Waters, D-Philadelphia/Delaware, announced Thursday that they intend to introduce legislation aimed at repealing the state's controversial voter ID law.

The lawmakers are seeking co-sponsorship for a bill that would overturn Act 18 of 2012, which obligates voters to provide photo identification before voting.

The law has yet to be implemented, as it is subject to an ongoing challenge in the state's courts.
