Apple Targeted Over Frequent IPad Releases In Brazil

Law360, New York (February 22, 2013, 2:06 PM EST) -- Apple Inc. has been hit with a class action in Brazil accusing the company of engaging in a campaign of planned obsolescence by introducing the iPad 4 less than a year after the previous version was released with few real upgrades or changes.

The suit was filed by the Brazilian Institute of Computer Law, a nonprofit formed by lawyers and former judges active in consumer and information technology law, which posted news stories about the  case on its website Thursday. It was unclear when the complaint...
