AMR Looks For Thumbs-Up On Merger From Bankruptcy Court

Law360, New York (February 25, 2013, 2:37 PM EST) -- AMR Corp. on Friday officially sought New York bankruptcy court approval for its $11 billion merger with US Airways Group Inc. as well as for revised stock and claims trading procedures that would allow it to carry over billions in operating losses for tax purposes.

In light of the recently announced joinder, the American Airlines Inc. parent asked a bankruptcy judge to alter the procedures for such trades that would allow it to carry over $7 billion in net operating losses to offset future taxable income....
