Law360, New Orleans (February 27, 2013, 8:23 PM EST) -- BP PLC misled offshore oil regulators about conditions at the Macondo well and made the "egregious" decision to keep drilling after it was clearly dangerous to do so, a well design expert testified Wednesday in trial over the Deepwater Horizon disaster.
"It was totally unsafe and dangerous — not just regulatory violations, unsafe from any industry practice I'm aware of," Alan Huffman, a geophysicist who advises oil companies on planning wells, told the court. "They were egregious beyond anything I've seen in my career."
