Attorney Slapped With 15 Years Over Fraud Scheme

Law360, New York (December 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A former hot-shot Miami plaintiff's attorney has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for allegedly stealing more than $13 million from thousands of elderly clients, whom he represented in a multitude of asbestos personal injury cases.

On Thursday, Judge Alan Gold of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida hit Louis Robles with the maximum sentence for his purported crimes, also ordering him to cough up $13.5 million in restitution.
