PacifiCorp Faces Pollution Claims Under Dumping Law

Law360, New York (December 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Environmentalists pressing PacifiCorp Inc. to clean up the Klamath River are now asserting a law usually reserved for municipal dumping to force the West Coast utility to pay billions of dollars in fines.

Conservation group Klamath Riverkeeper, Native American tribal leaders and other individuals filed a suit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against PacifiCorp for allegedly polluting the Klamath River with toxic algae blooms.
