Jones Day Targets Pennie & Edmonds for Buy-Out: Report

Law360 (November 23, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Jones Day Reavis & Pogue is negotiating to acquire an intellectual property firm or many of its attorneys, the East Bay Business Times reported, citing sources close to the talks.

Cleveland-based Jones Day is said to be in talks with Pennie & Edmonds, which has about 180 attorneys in Palo Alto, San Diego, New York and Washington, D.C.

Pennie left Jones Day at the altar last year, and later in 2002, Pennie also broke off merger talks with Cooley Godward, according to the New York Post....
