Pilgrim's Pride Exposed Workers, Families To Staph: Suit

Law360, New York (March 1, 2013, 2:09 PM EST) -- Family members of Pilgrim's Pride Corp. employees launched a suit in Texas federal court Thursday alleging the company negligently exposed their relatives to the potentially life-threatening, incurable staph infection MRSA at its poultry plant in Batesville, Ark.

More than a dozen family members of Pilgrim's Pride employees claim the company failed to warn or protect its employees from becoming infected with MRSA, or methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus, allowing workers to unwittingly bring home the bacterial infection and expose their spouses and children to it.
