Bowlz Chips Don't Dip Into Frito-Lay's Patents, Jury Says

Law360, New York (March 4, 2013, 8:47 PM EST) -- In a patent war over scoop-shaped tortilla chips, Bowlz chips maker Medallion Foods Inc. on Friday beat Scoops! manufacturer Frito-Lay North America Inc. when a Texas federal jury found Medallion and co-defendant Ralcorp Holdings Inc. hadn't infringed Frito-Lay's patent.

After a nine-day trial focusing on Frito-Lay's claims that Medallion infringed its patent and trade dress on the scoop-shaped chips, a jury universally found Medallion and Ralcorp had done nothing wrong.
