VirnetX Patent Trial Against Cisco Gets Under Way In Texas

Law360, New York (March 5, 2013, 7:14 PM EST) -- A Texas jury began hearing arguments this week in a trial in which Cisco Systems Inc. is accused of infringing VirnetX Inc. communications network patents, days after VirnetX secured a $368 million win against Apple Inc. in the same court.

VirnetX claims that Cisco's phones and other products with TelePresence functionality infringe six patents covering secure communications technology. Cisco maintains that it does not infringe and that VirnetX's patents are invalid.
