Invitrogen, Genetic Applications Settle Patent Fight

Law360, New York (December 11, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Life science company Invitrogen Corp. has settled a lawsuit brought by rival Genetic Applications LLC over a patent related to the introduction of DNA into the nucleus of living cells.

Genetic Applications, which filed the lawsuit in October 2006, asked Judge Leonard Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to dismiss the case with prejudice, saying that the parties have settled the dispute. Judge Davis granted the motion on Tuesday.
