Unique US 1st-To-File System May Trip Up Patent Applicants

Law360, New York (March 8, 2013, 4:20 PM EST) -- Beginning Saturday, the U.S. will join the rest of the world in having a first-to-file patent system, but applicants familiar with the European system should be aware of key differences in the American version that could cause trouble for U.S. applicants, attorneys say.
