Gas Station Operator To Pay $3M For FLSA Violations

Law360, New York (March 7, 2013, 5:05 PM EST) -- A New Jersey gas station operator must pay $3 million in unpaid wages and damages to more than 400 employees at 72 gas stations whom it stiffed on overtime wages, the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division said Thursday.

Daniyal Enterprises LLC and its owner Waseem Chaudhary agreed to pay $2 million in overtime back wages, $1 million in liquidated damages and $91,000 in civil penalties after a DOL investigation revealed Chaudhary repeatedly and willfully violated the Fair Labor Standards Act, the DOL said....
