Labor Suit Hairy Situation For Beauty Co. Regis

Law360 (December 12, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Beauty conglomerate Regis Corp. was unable to brush off a labor suit on Monday after a district court judge found that the company's practice of paying its employees with out-of-state checks that were held up or charged violated California labor laws.

Regis Corp., which owns some of the largest haircutting chains and beauty salons in North America, allegedly paid employees at several of its Supercuts chains in California with out-of-state checks processed by the parent corporation at a facility in Chicago.
