Pa. Rep. Seeks Disclosure Of Pipelines' Impact On Neighbors

Law360, Philadelphia (March 12, 2013, 3:08 PM EDT) -- Companies looking to build new natural gas pipelines across Pennsylvania would be required to identify and disclose all properties that could be affected by leaks, explosions and other failures under terms of a bill introduced by a state lawmaker Monday.

Rep. Mike Reese, R-Fayette/Westmoreland, would force gas gathering and transmission pipeline companies to identify the so-called potential impact radius, or PIR, of their projects as part of easement agreements signed by property owners allowing the pipelines to cross portions of their land.
