Texas Agency Eases Frack Water Reuse Amid Power Struggle

Law360, Houston (March 26, 2013, 6:39 PM EDT) -- Texas regulators on Tuesday approved rules designed to encourage oil and gas producers to recycle water used in well development before engaging in a heated argument over their leadership roles and a report that makes legislative recommendations related to the Eagle Ford Shale.

The three-member Railroad Commission voted unanimously at its regular bimonthly meeting to adopt regulations that will make it easier for energy companies to voluntarily reuse “flowback” water at drilling sites by eliminating the need for specialized permits and detailing environmental quality requirements....
