USERRA Does Not Bar Layoffs

Law360, New York (March 21, 2013, 12:53 PM EDT) -- As the U.S. military winds down its operations in Afghanistan and military personnel return to the civilian workforce, employers will be faced with increased instances in which they will be called upon to apply the provisions of the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act (USERRA), a statute governing the re-employment rights of returning service members.
