Justices Urged To Raise Bar For Worker Retaliation Suits

Law360, New York (March 14, 2013, 2:25 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other advocacy groups on Monday threw their weight behind a Texas hospital that has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to raise the bar for workers to prove employer retaliation.

The Chamber, along with the Equal Employment Advisory Council, the Retail Litigation Center and several others, filed amicus briefs in support of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in its bid to overturn a Fifth Circuit ruling in favor of a faculty member who claimed retaliation under Title VII....
