Enviros Claim Wind Farm Could Cause Cancer, Diabetes

Law360, New York (March 13, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT) -- Conservation groups in Southern California sued the Department of the Interior on Tuesday in an attempt to block construction of a wind farm they claim could cause nearby residents to develop health problems ranging from diabetes to cancer to attention deficit disorder.

The Protect Our Communities Foundation and Backcountry Against Dumps allege the agency failed to take a “hard look” at the potential for the 186-megawatt project to emit low-frequency sound and “dirty electricity” and cause a litany of ailments, including vertigo, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia....
