Amid Drought, Texas Panel Approves $2B For Water Projects

Law360, Houston (March 14, 2013, 3:52 PM EDT) -- A Texas panel unanimously approved a plan Thursday to authorize the state — which is in the midst of a prolonged drought — to create a fund to steer $2 billion toward projects necessary to meet future water needs.

The Texas House Natural Resources Committee sent H.B. 4 to the full House for an initial vote on the bill, which would create a dedicated revolving fund for financing water projects that would be capitalized by a one-time allocation of $2 billion from the state's Rainy Day...
