6th Circ. Releases Tenn. Medicaid From Youth Care Pact

Law360, San Francisco (March 14, 2013, 5:23 PM EDT) -- Tennessee’s Medicaid program scored a victory Thursday when the Sixth Circuit upheld a decision vacating a 1998 consent decree governing the program's youth care, and dismissed a long-running class action over the program's alleged failure to treat indigent patients under 21.

In a published opinion, the Sixth Circuit found that the Tennessee federal court's handling of the the class action against TennCare had been "exemplary," citing the court's exhaustive trial on the matter.
