Jury Clears Cisco In VirnetX's $258M Infringement Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (March 14, 2013, 11:54 PM EDT) -- A Texas jury cleared Cisco Systems Inc. on Thursday in a suit by VirnetX Inc. seeking $258 million on allegations Cisco infringed a group of its communications network patents, just weeks after the same court handed VirnetX a $368 million win against Apple Inc. 

The jury found that Cisco hadn’t violated U.S. Patent Numbers 6,502,135, 7,921,211, 7,418,504 and 6,839,759, according to a verdict sheet entered in the case Thursday. It also said that Cisco hadn’t proven that the ‘135, ‘211 and ‘504 patents were invalid....
