Device Co. Closes Up Suture Suit Against Abbott

Law360, New York (December 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- A medical device maker has resolved its patent infringement suit against Abbott Laboratories over suturing technology.

Sutura Inc. asked the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday to dismiss with prejudice its allegations that Abbott’s surgical closures violated six of its patents. In turn, Abbott requested that the court toss its counterclaims that Sutura’s suturing device infringed three of its patents.
