Justices Pass On FCA Suit Over Cozen Founder's Cozy Ties

Law360, New York (March 18, 2013, 4:04 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court declined Monday to hear the appeal of a qui tam plaintiff alleging his False Claims Act suit against Aramark Corp. was unfairly dismissed because of a federal judge's friendship with Aramark's attorney Stephen A. Cozen, the founder of Cozen O'Connor.

In denying Robert Pritsker's petition for writ of certiorari, the high court left standing the Third Circuit's July 20 ruling finding that U.S. District Judge Berle M. Schiller's friendship with Cozen did not contribute to the dismissal of Pritsker's FCA suit....
