Hedge Fund Won’t Return Investors' Calls, SEC Probing

Law360 (October 11, 2005, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wood River Partners LP, the once high-flying hedge fund in Ketchum, Idaho, is under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, according to the New York Times.

The investigation was reported to have been triggered after investors were unable to contact employees of the fund to make queries about their investments.

Wood River was launched in 2003 by former media and telecommunications analyst John Whittier and maintains it primary offices in San Francisco. Media reports indicate its office doors are locked and mail is piling up...
