Bloomberg Pushes For Tobacco Display Ban In NYC

Law360, New York (March 18, 2013, 3:36 PM EDT) -- New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced legislation Monday that would require retailers to store tobacco products where they cannot be seen by customers, a measure similar to an upstate law that tobacco companies targeted in a lawsuit last year.

Bloomberg is also supporting another bill that would ban the sale of discounted tobacco products, create a minimum price for cigarette packs and little cigars, and toughen enforcement measures against cigarette smuggling.
