Illumina Beats Life Tech DNA Patent Infringement Claims

Law360, New York (March 21, 2013, 2:45 PM EDT) -- Illumina Inc. has not infringed three patents related to DNA amplification technology licensed by a subsidiary of genetic testing company Life Technologies Corp., a California federal judge ruled Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo found that Illumina and its Solexa Inc. unit had not infringed three patents covering a method and product for amplification of nucleic acids.
